VeriSign Inc. (Nasdaq: VRSN), a leading provider of e-commerce security services, unveiled a new series of Web site services that include 24x7 Web site performance monitoring, expanded availability of 128-bit Global Server digital certificates, expanded NetSure warranty coverage up to $250,000 (US$), guaranteed 2-day certificate delivery, and discounts on Certified Web Security training.

The new service offerings -- Secure Site, Secure Site Plus, Global Site and Global Site Plus -- provide a range of choices for customers looking to secure their intranet, extranet or e-commerce sites. Each of the offerings includes either a VeriSign Secure Server ID or 128-bit Global Server ID, which act as electronic credentials to authenticate sites to their visitors and to enable secure, encrypted browser-to-server communications.

As a result of the recent approval by the U.S. Department of Commerce to expand the issuance of 128-bit Web site certificates, VeriSign is now able to issue its Global Server IDs to a broader range of customers, including overseas subsidiaries of U.S. companies.

Expanded Warranty Coverage, Up to $250,000

The new Secure Site services will offer a range of NetSure Warranty Protection levels, from $25,000 up to $250,000. NetSure, backed by The St. Paul Companies, protects a site from economic loss due to theft, misuse or corruption of a Web site's digital certificate.
